What has surfaced is a drawing, not a photo of a production shirt. The image above pairs that sketch, shown on a player, with a mock-up made by Footy Headlines. Treat both as a strong guide to the layout rather than the final product, since small details can still change before launch.

Neither Adidas nor Flamengo has confirmed the design, as far as we know.

Hoops and pattern

The body uses slimmer rubro-negro hoops than recent shirts: five red bands and five black ones. The headline detail is hidden inside the red. A subtle tonal geometric graphic, shaped like kites, runs through each red hoop.

Flamengo’s first football shirt, worn in 1912, was nicknamed the “Papagaio de Vintém”. In Brazil a papagaio is a paper kite, and the vintém was an old coin of very little value, so the name compared the shirt to a cheap kite. The 2027-28 pattern is a quiet reference to that piece of club history.

Shoulders, sleeves and cuffs

The shoulders and sleeves are plain red. Thick black cuffs finish the sleeves. The black Three Stripes run over the shoulders.

Crest, sponsor and the rest of the kit

The mock-up shows the CRF crest with a gold star above it, two BRB marks near the collar and Betano across the chest. Socks are red and black hoops, with white shorts.

How It Compares

The 2026-27 home shirt, launched in January 2026, uses much wider hoops, a polo-style collar and black shoulders with red Adidas stripes. The new design flips the upper half to red and squeezes more, narrower bands into the body, so it should look busier and more traditional at a distance.

The kit around the shirt stays familiar: white shorts, as on the current home strip, with red and black hooped socks. The change is concentrated in the shirt itself, where the slimmer hoops give a more traditional look and the 1912 pattern adds the history.

Footy Headlines expects the shirt to launch in early 2027, before the new Brazilian season starts. No exact date has been reported.
