The key point is how the shirt will be used. Liverpool normally wear their home, away and third kits in every competition. This one is reported to be reserved for European matches only, so it sits outside the usual three-kit rotation instead of replacing one of them. The site also says the release does not depend on Champions League qualification, so the shirt is not tied to Champions League football.

According to the report, this would be the first time in the club’s modern era that Liverpool have had a standalone kit made just for Europe. A short teaser on the same site the evening before promised more on “the first-ever Adidas Liverpool European kit”.

The story follows an earlier exclusive from 12 October, which said Bayern München will also receive a European-only Adidas shirt for 2027-28.
