Fulham 26/27 Away Kit: Checkerboard and the FFC Crest
Quick answer: Fulham’s 2026/27 away kit is out now. Adidas has built it around a red and black checkerboard, revived the minimalist “FFC” monogram crest last worn in the 1970s, and paired the shirt with red shorts and socks. It went on sale on 3 August 2026.
What has Fulham released?
Adidas and Fulham launched the club’s 2026/27 away kit on 3 August 2026, as reported by Footy Headlines. This one arrived as a full official launch with complete imagery rather than through leaked pictures.
The reference point is explicit. Adidas has designed the shirt as a modernised tribute to Fulham’s 1996/97 away kit, which was originally made by Le Coq Sportif and carried the red and black checkerboard.
It follows the 2026/27 home shirt, which Footy Headlines reported as a tribute to the Thames. Two kits, two heritage references.
Design breakdown
The checkerboard. Red and black squares cover the whole body, but the grid is deliberately irregular — blocks vary in size and bleed into one another instead of forming a clean, even checkerboard. That softening is what separates it from a straight reissue.
The crest. The headline detail. Adidas has dropped the current badge for the minimalist “FFC” monogram used between 1972 and 1977, a mark Footy Headlines associates with the club’s 1975 FA Cup final campaign. It sits on the right chest in white.
Collar and trim. A white polo-style collar tops the shirt, with the three stripes running down each shoulder in white and a white Trefoil — not the performance logo — on the left chest. The retro logo choice lines up with the retro crest.
Sponsors and rest of the kit. ClickHouse takes the front-of-shirt position in white, with secondary branding on the right sleeve. Red shorts and red socks complete the set, and both long-sleeve and short-sleeve versions are available.
How it compares to the 1996/97 original
Adidas is working from a template it did not create, and the two shirts sit three decades apart. Here is what is confirmed about each.
| Detail | 1996/97 away | 2026/27 away |
|---|---|---|
| Manufacturer | Le Coq Sportif | Adidas |
| Pattern | Red and black checkerboard | Red and black checkerboard, irregular blocks |
| Crest | — | “FFC” monogram (1972–77 mark) |
| Collar | — | White polo collar |
| Front sponsor | — | ClickHouse |
The crest swap is what makes this more than a pattern homage. A pattern can be redrawn; swapping the badge is a deliberate nod to a specific era of the club, and it is the detail most likely to pull in buyers who would otherwise skip an away shirt. Set against the Thames-tribute home shirt, this is comfortably the louder of the two.
When can you buy it?
It is already on sale. The kit went live on 3 August 2026 in both long-sleeve and short-sleeve cuts. Adidas did not publish pricing in the launch material.
