Nigeria’s switch to adidas was reported as confirmed on 28 August. The deal is described as record-breaking and starts in January 2027, ending a Nike partnership that began in 2015. In the early hours of 5 October 2026, Footy Headlines released colour information on the away shirt, then the main colour of the home shirt a few hours later.

Both leaks are colour graphics, not product photos. They give us the palette, the logo and the design direction. Exact patterns, collars and sleeve details haven’t been shown, so this post sticks to what was reported.

Design Breakdown

Home colourway. The home shirt is mainly Aurivy, a dark teal-green that adidas already uses on footwear and lifestyle products. It’s a deeper, cooler green than the bright shades Nigeria has worn recently.

Home details. White is expected for the detailing. The branding and accents may use lighter or contrasting greens, but that part isn’t confirmed.

Away colourway. The away shirt has a mostly white base. The accent colours haven’t been confirmed, though black and green are seen as the most likely.

Away heritage design. This is the headline detail. The away kit is reported to take its design from a 1990s Nigeria shirt, most likely the 1994 or the 1996 away. The adidas Trefoil sits on the chest instead of the performance logo, a choice adidas tends to make for its biggest heritage-led national-team kits.

Crest and sponsors. Neither leak shows the crest treatment, and national-team shirts don’t carry a front sponsor.
