The first look at Chelsea’s next home shirt arrived on 2 October 2026. Footy Headlines published the design after it surfaced through myach_lab, a Russian football account on Telegram that also put out early 27-28 home designs for Tottenham, PSG and Inter on the same day. The outlet tagged the Chelsea story with an accuracy rating above 95%, which is about as confident as a leak gets seven months before launch.

Design Breakdown

Colourway. The base is the vivid royal blue Chelsea wear in 2026/27, so on the pitch the shirt will look familiar from a distance. The change is in the trim. Nike’s colour name for the accent is Mead Gold, a warm yellow-gold rather than a metallic finish.

Crest. As on the current shirt, Nike uses the lion on its own instead of the full circular club badge. The difference is the colour: the lion is now picked out in gold and sits in the centre of the chest, with the gold Swoosh also centred. Cuffs and collar. The sleeve ends carry a checker pattern. The report doesn’t describe the collar shape. Footy Headlines has reported separately that Nike will keep its 2026 template for 27-28 home and away shirts (we covered that in our Nike 27-28 template leak), so expect the same cut and fit as the current shirt.

Sponsor. Not covered in the leak. Treat any mock-up showing a front-of-shirt sponsor as a guess.

How It Compares

Gold detailing would return to the Chelsea home shirt for the first time in 15 years. According to the report, the last time was 2012-13, when adidas made the kit. That gives the 27-28 shirt a clear link to one of the club’s most successful periods, while the bright blue base keeps it close to what the team wears now.
