Best MLS 2026 Kits, Ranked

Mens Atlanta United 2023/24 Home Jersey Player Version
Quick Answer
The best MLS 2026 kit is Atlanta United’s Spirit of ’96 away shirt: a cream-and-gold Adidas design honouring the 1996 Centennial Olympics, with medal-sash detailing and MCMXCVI stitched inside the collar. Orlando City’s gold Sunken Treasure away and LA Galaxy’s VeloCITY sash follow.

The best MLS kit of 2026 is Atlanta United’s Spirit of ’96 away shirt by Adidas — a cream and forest-green tribute to the 1996 Centennial Olympics that is easily the most storied design in the league. All thirty MLS clubs launched one new Adidas shirt on 10–11 February 2026, and nine also received a retro Archive Collection third. How we ranked the 2026/27 MLS kits

One important clarification before the list: there is no MLS 2026/27 season. MLS 2026 is a calendar-year campaign that kicked off on 21 February 2026, and the league only moves to a summer-to-spring calendar after a condensed transition season in early 2027. Shirts sold as “MLS 26/27” are these 2026 kits. Every club released exactly one new shirt for 2026 — home or away, with the other carried over — all made by Adidas. We ranked on design execution, how well the shirt tells a local story, and wearability.

The 12 best MLS 2026/27 kits, ranked

1. Atlanta United — Away (Adidas)

Named the Spirit of ’96 kit, this is the away shirt of the season. Adidas built a cream and gold base around forest-green accents lifted from the 1996 Centennial Olympics emblem, with a gold-on-gold crest sitting on a green patterned vertical stripe that evokes an Olympic medal sash. Inside the collar sit the roman numerals MCMXCVI and MMXXVI, thirty years apart, and the back of the neck carries ATL framed by a laurel wreath. Shop the Atlanta United collection.

2. Orlando City — Away (Adidas)

The Sunken Treasure kit is Orlando’s first primarily gold shirt. A vibrant yellow-gold base carries a tonal all-over graphic of flowing maritime patterns, with a large-scale lion motif across the front panel and subtle ship detailing worked into the print. Purple logos, a purple round collar, purple cuffs and purple three stripes complete it. The story is Florida’s Treasure Coast and the 1715 Treasure Fleet. Browse the Orlando City collection.

3. LA Galaxy — Home (Adidas)

The VeloCITY kit brings the Galaxy sash back properly. A navy diagonal band runs from the right shoulder to the lower-left torso across a white base, framed in gold and deliberately broken by several cuts meant to symbolise growth. Blue returns as the dominant secondary on the three stripes and sleeve trim, with gold edging on collar and cuffs. The crest carries a six-star alignment and a 96 mark for the inaugural season. See the LA Galaxy collection.

4. Inter Miami CF — Away (Adidas)

Miami’s Presagio away is a black base with pink logos, anthracite three stripes and a proper polo collar — the sharpest thing the club has worn. The crest is rendered entirely in pink and topped with a silver star marking the 2025 MLS Cup title. Miami also got the standout Archive Collection third: an off-white Miami Vice shirt in pink, teal and black that uniquely carries the retro Adidas Trefoil instead of the Performance logo. Shop the Inter Miami collection.

5. Philadelphia Union — Home (Adidas)

The 1776 kit is the boldest concept in the league. Adidas covered the shirt in an all-over graphic drawn from the Declaration of Independence, complete with imagery of the Founding Fathers and historical text including the date July 4, 1776. On a lesser club it would read as costume; on a Philadelphia side in a World Cup summer it works. Their Archive Collection third is a cleaner white base with bold chest graphics. Browse the Philadelphia Union collection.

6. New York Red Bulls — Home (Adidas)

Marketed under the line Red Runs Deep, the Rooted kit is a black base covered in red lightning-bolt graphics radiating across the body and down the sleeves, with the Adidas three stripes on the shoulders. It is the most aggressive home shirt in MLS this season and a clear break from the club’s usual white-and-red look, which makes it the sort of kit that sells well beyond the fanbase. Find it in the New York Red Bulls collection.

7. Vancouver Whitecaps — Away (Adidas)

The Coastal Jersey is a deep coastal blue drawn from the strength of the Pacific, and the detailing is where it earns its place: a pattern of light blue and white lines on the collar and sleeve cuffs is taken directly from the club crest and reads as the mountains that ring the city. Restrained where most 2026 kits shout, and better for it. Browse the Vancouver Whitecaps collection.

8. San Diego FC — Away (Adidas)

San Diego’s second season kit is a white base crossed by orange and blue wavy lines that create an electric, rippling effect, finished with blue three stripes and trim. For an expansion club still building a visual language it is a smart move — instantly recognisable at distance, and it makes the club’s coastal palette do the work rather than a heritage story it does not yet have. Shop the San Diego FC collection.

9. Los Angeles FC — Home (Adidas)

LAFC stayed on brand with a black base and gold detailing carrying an art-deco pattern, a nod to the architecture of downtown Los Angeles. The club has one of the strongest fixed identities in MLS — black and gold, no negotiation — so the design work happens in the texture rather than the colourway. It remains one of the most commercially reliable shirts in the league. Browse the LAFC collection.

10. Columbus Crew — Home (Adidas)

The Crafted for Excellence kit doubles down on the brightest yellow in MLS, using black as the only accent. Columbus have spent recent seasons building a reputation for restraint while the rest of the league chases graphics, and this is the purest expression of that — a shirt that relies entirely on the strength of a single colour. Find it in the Columbus Crew collection.

11. Austin FC — Away (Adidas)

Austin’s Rooted kit is a deliberately soft take: mint green and white stripes rather than the heavy verde-and-black the club usually wears. It is the most low-key shirt on this list and one of the few 2026 releases that would pass as a lifestyle piece off the pitch, which is exactly what makes it a strong seller. Browse the Austin FC collection.

12. Portland Timbers — Away (Adidas)

The Civic Stadium kit takes its name from the Timbers’ historic home and its palette from an unusual pair of Adidas colours: a light beige Ice Yellow base with Silver Green accents. It is a muted, almost archival look that sits well against Portland’s green-and-gold home identity, and one of the few away shirts in MLS that avoids white entirely. See the Portland Timbers collection.
