Revealed: Sunderland 2026 Remembrance Shirt by Hummel

TL;DR

• Sunderland and Hummel have released a limited-edition, long-sleeved shirt for Remembrance Day and the club’s Heroes’ Week.
• Red silhouettes of the Sunderland War Memorial and its Angel of Victory repeat down a white shirt, forming a striped effect.
• “A Tribute to Our Glorious Dead” sits below the collar on the back. The shirt is on sale now through the club’s own shop.

The Leak

Sunderland and Hummel launched the shirt themselves, and Footy Headlines covered the release on 6 November 2026. Its full report has the rest of the launch pictures.

The club tied the shirt to two things: Remembrance Day and its own Heroes’ Week, which it holds every year. The launch photos were taken in Mowbray Park, next to the memorial that inspired the design, with local service personnel joining the shoot.

It’s a limited edition and sits outside the 26-27 match kits. Footy Headlines files it under lifestyle.

Pattern. The whole idea comes from the Sunderland War Memorial in Mowbray Park. Its column and the Angel of Victory statue on top appear as red silhouettes, repeated in rows over a white base. Lined up like that, they read as vertical stripes across the body and both sleeves.

Crest and logo. The Sunderland crest and the Hummel logo are placed in the middle of the chest, one above the other. We can’t see a sponsor on the front in the launch photo.

Collar and back. A plain white crew neck keeps the top of the shirt clean. On the upper back, just under the collar, is the line “A Tribute to Our Glorious Dead”, which repeats the words carved into the cenotaph.

Sleeves. It’s only been shown in long sleeves, and the silhouettes run all the way down to the cuffs.

How It Compares

It still reads as a Sunderland shirt. The red-on-white silhouettes stack into columns, so the club’s home colours come through without a plain stripe.

It follows the same thinking as this season’s away shirt: give the design a local story. The Elvis away kit did it with a terrace song. This one takes a city landmark and puts it on the shirt.
