Inter Milan Player Version Shirts: Fit, Fabric & Sizing
Inter Milan player version shirts are the match-cut half of Nike’s range. Inter Milan’s 2026/27 home shirt is made by Nike, in a partnership running since 1998 and extended in July 2023 through to June 2031. The shirt went on sale on 19 May 2026, and it is one of the more deliberately designed nerazzurri shirts of recent years.
The colours are black and “Lyon Blue” with “University Gold” detailing across the Swoosh, crest and sponsor branding. The gold is not decoration for its own sake: Inter and Nike present the whole shirt as a tribute to the club’s 1998 shirt, with the gold referencing the yellow Swoosh and crest of that era. The black stripes are deliberately thicker than the blue ones, and the stripe edges are finished with a jagged cut described as inspired by tailor’s scissors, a nod to Milano’s tailoring heritage. The fold-over collar returns in place of a crew neck, and the inner neck carries the words “Made of Milano”. Betsson Sport fronts the shirt, and two gold stars sit above the crest, one for each ten Scudetti — Inter now have 21.
On fabric, Nike changed its top-tier branding for this cycle. Dri-FIT ADV has been replaced by Aero-FIT on authentic, match-issue shirts, with Dri-FIT retained on the Stadium replica. Aero-FIT is chiefly a yarn and material change — Nike describes it as its first elite performance apparel made entirely from textile waste — combined with elliptical mesh zones that serve as both a visible pattern and targeted airflow channels. Nike has claimed it is 238% more breathable than the 2024 Dri-FIT ADV shirts, which is a manufacturer figure rather than an independently tested one.

How does the Inter Milan player version fit?
It fits close and short, tapering hard at the waist. The 2026/27 shirt reinstates a fold-over collar rather than a crew neck, which sits higher and stiffer on the tighter player cut. If you are between sizes, prefer a looser drape, or dislike a structured collar, order one size up.
What sizes are available in Inter Milan player version shirts?

Why the jagged stripe edge suits the tighter cut
Most striped shirts use a clean straight edge where black meets blue, which looks the same however the fabric hangs. Inter’s 2026/27 shirt does not: the boundary is cut with a fine jagged profile meant to read as scissor-cut cloth. That detail is small, and on the looser fan block it softens into what looks like an ordinary stripe once the fabric folds across the chest. The tighter player-version body holds the fabric flat enough for the sawtooth edge to stay legible. If the tailoring reference is why the shirt appeals to you, that is a genuine reason to take the closer cut.
Which Inter Milan name and number should you get?
Captain Lautaro Martinez at 10 is the biggest seller, with Marcus Thuram at 9 next. Nicolo Barella wears 23, Federico Dimarco 32, Hakan Calhanoglu 20 and Francesco Pio Esposito 94. Inter won the 2025/26 Serie A title, their 21st Scudetto, so the current shirt is a champions’ shirt.
Squad numbers can still move in late July, and we would flag one name in particular: Denzel Dumfries is reported to have joined Real Madrid this summer, so we would not print that shirt. If you want a name certain to be correct through the season, Lautaro 10 and Thuram 9 are the safest.
Is the Inter Milan player version worth it?
It is worth it if you want the gold detailing and jagged stripe edges rendered sharply on the tighter cut, or you play in the shirt. If you want the champions’ design for everyday wear, or you need 3XL or 4XL in the current shirt, the fan version is the more practical buy at $37.99.

Everything that makes the 2026/27 Inter shirt distinctive is gold, and gold heat-press is the least durable finish on any shirt: the Swoosh, crest, sponsor and the stars all sit on the surface rather than in the weave.
