Best Ligue 1 2026/27 Third Kits, Ranked

Mens Olympique Marseille 2026/27 Third Jersey
Quick Answer
Twelve Ligue 1 clubs had launched a 2026/27 third kit by 4 October 2026. Our pick is Marseille’s lavender Provence shirt from Puma, followed by Lyon’s black funk-themed adidas design and Strasbourg’s navy-and-black stripes honouring 1946-47. PSG’s Jordan third has leaked but has not been released yet.

Third kits give French clubs room to experiment, and this season they have used it. There are Riviera beach mats, vinyl records, lighthouses and a fleur-de-lys stitched into a collar. Below we rank the eleven designs on the pitch so far, with the twelfth, OGC Nice’s memorial shirt, set apart for a reason we explain at the end. Launch dates are taken from each club’s release as reported by Footy Headlines.

Paris FC’s is listed on kit databases, but we could not confirm a launch.

The ranking

1. Marseille (Puma)

Only the second purple shirt in OM’s history, and Puma have committed to it. The lavender base has a tonal olive-branch pattern across the front and sleeves, with navy detailing, a buttoned collar and a small Provençal flag under the back of the neck. It is a tribute to Provence that never tips into a postcard. Our pick of the season. Marseille 2026/27 third shirt · Player Version · all Marseille shirts.

2. Lyon (adidas)

adidas have given Lyon some of the boldest kits in France for over a decade, and this one presents the city as France’s capital of funk. It has a black base, the crest and adidas logo embroidered in turquoise, pink, orange and light blue, and wavy pastel Three Stripes on the shoulders. There are spinning-vinyl graphics in the fabric. Loud, but it holds together. Lyon 2026/27 third shirt · Player Version · all Lyon shirts.

3. Strasbourg (adidas)

Navy and black vertical stripes with white trim, honouring the 1946-47 season. The diamond-shaped crest the club used between 1945 and 1950 returns, and “JETZT GEHT’S LOS” is printed on the back, an Alsatian touch. A heritage shirt done with restraint. Strasbourg shirts.

4. Lille (New Balance)

Midnight blue with red fleur-de-lys woven into the polo collar, running down the side panels and set into the middle of the crest, with metallic silver logos. The fleur-de-lys is the city’s own symbol, so this one feels local rather than invented. Lille 2026/27 third shirt · all Lille shirts.

5. Monaco (Mizuno)

A mint-green shirt with white wavy vertical stripes and navy accents, based on Riviera beach mats reworked to look like moving water. It is made from recycled polyester. Easy to wear away from a stadium, which is the point of a summer-themed kit. Monaco 2026/27 third shirt · all Monaco shirts.

6. Lens (adidas)

adidas’s first season with Lens after Puma. The white shirt has a diagonal red-and-yellow sash, yellow Three Stripes, a red collar trimmed in yellow and matching cuffs. It closely recalls the Puma third Lens wore in 2022-23, so it is a strong design but not a new idea. Lens 2026/27 third shirt · all Lens shirts.

7. Brest (adidas)

Dark navy with yellow accents and a recoloured lighthouse crest. The theme is Brest at night as a port city, built around the local saying that the light of Brest never goes out. Moody and coherent. Brest shirts.

8. Le Mans (adidas)

The first adidas kit for the newly promoted club, launched in early July with a collector’s box. The chequered design nods to endurance motor racing and the Le Mans Classic. It is a clever link for a town famous for its 24-hour race, though the pattern dominates the shirt.

9. Lorient (Joma)

Blue with navy sleeves and collar, crossed by wavy azure and light-green lines meant to suggest ocean waves and the seabed. A fitting maritime theme for a port club, if a little busy. Lorient shirts.

10. Rennes (Puma)

Pastel pink with a lighter pink on the sleeves, black trim and the founding year, 1901, on the upper back. It is pleasant enough, but there is little story behind it compared with the shirts above. Rennes shirts.

11. Auxerre (Macron)

Blue with a broad navy central stripe edged in white, launched in mid-September alongside a retro-style home and a black away. It is tidy but the safest design on this list. Auxerre shirts.

Why isn’t OGC Nice’s third kit ranked?

Nice’s metallic-gold third shirt from Kappa marks ten years since the attack on the Promenade des Anglais on 14 July 2016. It carries 86 gold stars and a heart bearing the victims’ names, and it was first worn on 6 September. It is a memorial, not a fashion statement, so we have left it out of the ranking.

When will PSG release their 2026/27 third kit?

There is no confirmed date yet. Several leaks point to a black Jordan shirt with a blurred multicolour version of the Hechter stripe, but they disagree on the accent colours, so the final design is unconfirmed. We will add it here once it is launched. Until then, see our PSG shirts.
