For the past decade the club’s third strip has been last season’s away shirt given a second life. For 2026-27, Nike has produced a standalone design, and it went on sale the day it was announced, 5 August 2026.

That decision matters more than it sounds. A carry-over third shirt is a recycled design; a purpose-built one means Nike ran a separate brief for Brighton, and the result is a kit that references the city directly rather than reusing whatever was already on the shelf.

Design Breakdown

Colourway. The base is a deep teal that Nike attributes to the sea and the Downs that surround Brighton and Hove. It sits in the gap between navy and green.

Accents. The bright hyper turq trim is the detail worth looking at closely. Nike has tied it to the turquoise promenade railings on Brighton seafront, and it appears on the side panels, on the shoulders, around the collar and at the cuffs. The application is restrained — thin lines rather than blocks — which keeps the shirt from tipping into novelty territory.

Branding. A crisp white Swoosh sits on the right chest, matched by a white primary sponsor mark and a white club crest. Keeping all three in the same white is a simple choice that stops the front of the shirt fighting with itself.

Full kit. Nike pairs the shirt with teal shorts and teal socks, so this is a single-tone strip rather than a contrast build.

How It Compares

Set against the 2025-26 third shirt — itself a recycled away design — this is a clear upgrade in intent. The previous strip existed because a shirt was already tooled up; this one exists because someone drew it for a purpose, and the local references show it.

Against Brighton’s own recent home shirts, the contrast is total. The 2025-26 home jersey is the familiar blue and white stripe, a pattern the club has barely moved away from. A single dark tone with one bright accent colour gives Nike room to do something Brighton’s home shirt never allows.

It is also a plain shirt, in the best sense. There is no all-over graphic and no printed pattern — the design rests entirely on the teal and the thin turquoise trim, which is a harder thing to get right than a busy print.
