Released: Bayern Munich 2026-27 Oktoberfest Kit — Adidas Goes Wild

Adidas and Bayern Munich have unveiled the 2026-27 Oktoberfest shirt, and it is the loudest Wiesn kit the club has ever worn. The black base is buried under a painterly, collage-like graphic in red, green, blue, orange, yellow and white, with only the plain black collar and cuffs left untouched.

What does the Bayern 2026-27 Oktoberfest kit look like?

The shirt is built on black, then covered corner to corner in an abstract multicoloured pattern that adidas says was drawn from the atmosphere of the festival itself. There is no repeating motif and no symmetry. Every panel reads differently, which is why the first reaction across social media was closer to “art print” than “football shirt”. The adidas stripes sit in off-white on the shoulders, the crest and Trefoil are printed in white, and the official Oktoberfest logo appears on the back below the collar. Black shorts and black socks complete the set, which is the club’s usual way of letting a busy shirt breathe.

When will Bayern wear it?

Oktoberfest 2026 runs from 19 September to 4 October at the Theresienwiese in Munich, so the shirt lands five days before the first barrel is tapped. Bayern have made a habit of wearing the Wiesn design for a home Bundesliga fixture inside the festival window, and the squad photo in dirndl and lederhosen at the beer tents is as fixed a part of the calendar as the kit itself. The club has not confirmed which match it will be worn in at the time of writing — expect that to follow closer to the festival.

Why is this one so different?

Recent Wiesn shirts have leaned traditional: muted tones, checks, folk-pattern trims, the kind of thing that reads as Bavarian at a glance. This one throws that out. There is no chequerboard, no dirndl blue, no restrained nod to a beer tent — just a chaotic wash of colour that only makes sense once you accept it is meant to feel like the festival rather than look like it. It is a gamble, and the early reaction has split neatly between people calling it the best Wiesn shirt adidas have made and people calling it unwearable.

It also sits oddly next to the rest of the 2026-27 range. The navy third shirt is quiet and history-led, the away shirt brings back a classic crest treatment, and the home shirt carries the “FC Bayern” wordmark across the back. Against those three, the Oktoberfest shirt looks like it wandered in from another season entirely — which, for a one-match special, is arguably the point.

One practical note for anyone planning to add a name and number: a print this busy fights with lettering.
