Liverpool, Man City and Everton Third Kits Lead This Week’s Reveals

Third kits dominated the last week of August 2026. RB Leipzig opened with a Champions League third, three Premier League clubs then unveiled their own European-night shirts inside 24 hours of each other, and adidas closed the week in Argentina with a Boca Juniors away shirt that reaches back further than the club’s famous blue and gold. Here is what was released, in the order it arrived.

Which kits were revealed this week?

Five releases stood out between 26 and 29 August 2026: RB Leipzig’s third (26 Aug), then Liverpool, Manchester City and Everton thirds on 27 August, and the Boca Juniors away shirt on 29 August. Four of the five are third kits. Each club’s 433FC collection is linked in the sections below.

Liverpool’s third shirt is black, with an irregular maroon geometric pattern spread across the chest, shoulders and sleeves. The adidas logo, Liverbird and Standard Chartered wordmark are all rendered in matt silver, and a maroon panel behind the collar carries the club’s 97 emblem. Black shorts and black socks with a thin maroon band complete it.

adidas launched it under a “Feel the Anfield Effect” campaign, describing the graphic as a representation of the crowd’s collective energy on European nights. Who designed Manchester City’s 2026/27 third kit?

A supporter did. City’s third shirt came out of Puma’s AI Creator platform, launched in December 2024. According to Football Shirt Culture, the platform drew more than 180,000 submissions from over 200 countries, those concepts attracted around 1.7 million ratings, and ten finalists went to a public vote in January 2025 — with the winning design coming from a lifelong City fan named Elliott. “A.I. CREATOR” is printed at the neckline as a nod to how it was made.

The shirt itself is white, with two vertical bands running down the centre from the V-neck: one dark navy, one sky blue, both carrying tonal gradient sections, plus matching panels lower on the sides. What inspired Everton’s 2026/27 third kit?

Trees. Castore built the design around the landscaping at Bramley-Moore Dock, specifically the pines, alders and dawn redwoods planted around the fan plaza and chosen to cope with riverside conditions. The result is a muted green shirt with subtle tonal patterning, a dark green crew neck and cuffs trimmed in narrow orange piping, and orange used for the crest, the Castore logo and the CMC Markets sponsor.

The club motto, Nil Satis Nisi Optimum, is embroidered in orange below the rear collar, and the hem splits carry orange inserts. Castore offers it in a lightweight ribbed Aertek Pro version and a smoother replica, both in short and long sleeves, per Football Shirt Culture. What is RB Leipzig’s 2026/27 third kit?

Leipzig’s Champions League shirt is built on a Blue Jewel base, with an abstract graphic in electric blue, cyan and red covering the front and sleeves. The pattern mixes irregular geometric shapes, stars, zigzags and cellular forms, drawn from the city’s nightlife. The back panel is left plain navy so the printing stays legible, and the Red Bull sponsor sits centrally between the crest and a white Puma logo.

It uses dryCELL and is made from 100% polyester, at least 95% of it recycled through Puma’s RE:FIBRE programme, according to Football Shirt Culture. Why is the Boca Juniors 2026/27 away kit white?

Because it predates the blue and gold. adidas based the away shirt on the earliest strips Boca wore before the club settled on its now-iconic colours, and a small anchor on the rear neckline carries 1905, the founding year. The shirt is white with narrow Shadow Navy pinstripes across the front, sleeves and back, interrupted at the midriff by a wide white band carrying the Betsson sponsor.

What was the theme of this week’s releases?

All four thirds looked outward rather than at the badge. Liverpool went to the stands, Everton to the ground the club now plays in, Leipzig to the city itself, and City handed the pencil to a supporter outright. Boca were the exception, and went backwards instead, to a shirt from before the club looked like Boca.
